Here we go…
Today I announced on LinkedIn that I am officially leaving my full time job at Seattle U and going into this coaching and consulting business full time. If it’s on LinkedIn, it’s real, right?
I paired the post with a quote I pulled from my Little Book of Encouragement - “EDIT YOUR LIFE FREQUENTLY AND RUTHLESSLY. IT’S YOUR MASTERPIECE AFTER ALL.” (The quote was in all caps so I’m keeping it that way so you really feel the shouty-ness of it).
This has been a long time coming. Hours and hours of thinking and talking and crying and dreaming. Hours of coaching training, studying, certification. Hours (over 100 and counting) spent coaching clients, learning how to do it better every time, feeling so lucky to be able to play a small part in my clients’ successes.
It can seem like people have it so together when they announce something like this, like they have it all planned out and organized. Maybe some do. I definitely don’t.
It’s a big leap. One the universe has been nudging me (harder and harder) to take over the last year. I got the final shove I needed in London a month ago when I was interviewing for a different job. That story requires its own post, but I was so relieved when I got to the place where I knew, just KNEW it was time to jump.
I am nervous, yes. I will miss employer-subsidized health care in particular. But I am amazed at how good it feels to bet on myself. To build what I want how I want it, to become the very best at helping people grow, thrive, and lead with confidence. Here’s to all that’s to come.
Here’s to betting on yourself.
